Android App - privacy

Why does freshdesk need to see my apps list, apps running list, browsing history and bookmarks?

Not sure this buys the app anything - certainly not happy to hand this over to Freshdesk.

Anyone from Freshdesk care to comment?

Hi Tony,

Freshdesk app has Crittercism integrated. The permissions android.permission.READ_LOGS and android.permission.GET_TASKS ware added to enable Crittercism crash reporting. Please be assured that we do not retrieve any personal information through the app.

Thanks,

A.J Sudharshan.

Hey thanks for the quick update, but why browsing history and bookmarks?

Hi Tony,

None of the browser or other apps data like history or bookmarks will be read using this permission. As mentioned in Crittercism documentation, this permission is collect detailed crash report like all running tasks during the crash. The permissions required by the app and their short description listed by the play store is the maximum that the requiring app can perform with the above said group of permissions and need not necessarily perform all of them. Hope this clarifies.

Thanks,

A.J Sudharshan.

Thank for the update - yes this clears things up, thanks for the detailed response.

Regards

Tony
