Is there a way, either natively or via an add on app to allow me to import time entries into Freshdesk?

@Doug Williamson

Time entries are manually enabled option by the agent and the details saved are transactional to the ticket and not saved separately. Hence, the import is not available in the product.

Just curious to know, why time entries need to be imported? Are these tickets are migrated ones or the time entries are tracked in a different application?

Cheers

One option is to explore the Freshdesk Marketplace, which offers a variety of apps and integrations that extend the capabilities of Freshdesk. You can search for time tracking or data import/export apps that may provide the functionality you require. Keep in mind that the availability and specific features of these apps may have changed since my knowledge cutoff, so it's best to check the Freshdesk Marketplace for the most up-to-date information.

Alternatively, if you have programming skills or access to developers, you can consider using Freshdesk's APIs to build a custom integration or script that imports time entries into Freshdesk. The Freshdesk API allows you to interact with the system and perform various actions programmatically, including creating time entries.

To get started with the Freshdesk API, you can refer to the Freshdesk Developer documentation, which provides detailed information on the available endpoints and how to authenticate and make requests to the API.

Also, have a look at these resources. These might help you.

Do bear in mind that the availability and specific features of these apps may have evolved since my last knowledge update, so it's advisable to check the Freshdesk Marketplace for the most current information.

Alternatively, if you possess programming skills or have access to developers, you might want to consider leveraging Freshdesk's APIs to create a bespoke integration or script for importing time entries into Freshdesk. The Freshdesk API empowers you to interact with the system and carry out various actions programmatically, including the creation of time entries.

To kickstart your journey with the Freshdesk API, consult the Freshdesk Developer documentation, which furnishes comprehensive information on the available endpoints and offers guidance on authentication and making requests to the API.

Yes, the ability to import entries into time tracking systems depends on the specific software, apps or tools you are using. Many time tracking tools offer import functionality through features like CSV (Comma Separated Values) or other file format imports. Check the documentation or settings of your specific time tracking tool for instructions on how to import entries.
