Skype for Business (previously Lync) Plugin?

I've added a freshplug that adds the lync popup when you hover over the contact's name.

Beware that this is an old approach and it doesn't work in all browsers. Our company is forced on Internet Explorer (currently IE 11) and this works.


We are evaluating an integration with Skype for Business. Will share updates as we make progress.

Skype for Business integration to convert calls to tickets can be provisioned by one of our partners. The concept is similar to having a connector that will listen for incoming and outgoing call and simultaneously convert the calls to tickets with appropriate requester and agent assigned. This service would incur a subscription fee from our partner. If required, please get in touch with your Freshdesk sales representative or support@freshdesk.com and we can help you connect with the right person for a POC.

How about the simple call functionality from a ticket? Not the convert a call to a ticket.  We were unable to get the plugin created by Tiele Declercq to work for us - however our Skype for Business is fully off-premise, this may be why.


Hello All, has anyone managed to create a plugin for Skype for Business?  We are in question on the performance how it works and will it offer a Language Translator as this would be perfect for our International clients.  Any help would be great .

I would love a Skype for Business integration.  We are slowly converting all of our internal people over to Skype for Business and as a result, we are now getting connections and chats from external customers.  Would love to be able to convert those into tickets for tracking as well as give the customer the ability to search Freshdesk for the ticket information.

Skype from Business has on premise implementations which need a more sophisticated implementation. As mentioned before this has been built by one of our partners and available at a subscription.

Hi, there. Is this already a closed ticket? 




We're currently using Tenfold in integrating our phone system with Freshdesk, and we love the click to dial feature along with call logs and real-time call recording. 




Since we're not using Skype for Business, I checked their site out, and it looks like they can do this for you. Hope this helps.

Create a new custom app called 'Click to Call'




Paste the following into the Script section...

Configure the app to be displayed on the 'Ticket detail page' and 'Contact detail page'.




Now if a phone number exists it will be converted to a hyperlink using the callto:tel: tag, when clicked it should screen pop the S4B client with the number pre-populated ready for you to make your call.
