I created a new solution and i was asked to choose if the solution is Permanent or Workaround. What's the difference?

A 'Permanent' solution is one that resolves the core problem and ideally prevents the same incident from ever happening again.
Eg. Installing an update or a service pack that fixes the reported bug.
A 'Workaround', though, is just a temporary "fix" that lets the requester start using the IT service again (while the underlying problem is still unresolved).
Eg. Disabling some applications that the user does not currently use, to reserve the available memory to more crucial applications.
