We have a few thousand assets in Inventory. I would like to update the cost of some of the assets. I have a CSV with the Serial Number and Associated Cost.
What is the best way to import the cost to the serial numbers in the list.
Not all Serial Numbers are currently in FS, because this list is from Dell and it contains everything purchased in the past 3 years.

The best way would be to export the data you want to adjust, and then import the data with the cost associated. The tricky part is that you can only import to one type of asset at a time. Thankfully, cost is part of the Hardware asset type.
I would export the Hardware assets (ensure to export all asset fields that are required to import back to Hardware), adjust the costs in the spreadsheet. Then, make a copy and delete all but a few assets, and test the import to make sure it works as intended.
Also, when you’re importing, make sure you’re matching records by serial number - it will create a new record if it doesn’t find a matching serial number.
