How do I....?

Hey everyone, how could I manage the resolution notes section where I have to mandate resolution notes upon closure / Pending status. It is not located in the field manager, currently anyone can just close out a ticket without requiring a resolution note. i did add a custom field and called it resolution note and made it mandatory but is there a way I can manage the resolution notes section?

I added a new ticket status called Waiting for Vendor.  I also added a field for agents called Vendor ticket number.  If we have to open a ticket with a vendor to help resolve the problem that was submitted in to us, we can change the status to waiting for vendor and if we have a ticket number we can key it in the vendor ticket number field. The only problem is that when the ticket is in this new custom status, it does not think its open anymore.  When your on the All Unresolved Tickets screen, the tickets in this status do not show.  Technically they are not resolved because we are still waiting for a vendor.  Some vendors can take a long time, weeks or months, and we could easily forget about these tickets if they are not in view.  Tickets in this status do not show up in My Open and Pending tickets either.How can we program custom ticket status fields to still signal to the system that its an open ticket?

I am trying to update an existing ticket by sending an email I received from someone else related to the ticket.  I have placed (#INC-3) in the subject line of the email.  However, I keep getting a new ticket instead of adding to the existing ticket.Can someone explain what I am doing wrong?Thanks

I’m working on an offboarding process in FreshService and would like to convert a mailbox to shared.   We are a hybrid environment so I’m thinking that would need to be done in Exchange Online using Powershell somehow.  Has anyone figured out how to do this?   Thanks

Has anyone else had any experience with the change calendar that can offer advice? I just updated the change calendar with maintenance blackouts for the remainder of 2021 and all of 2022. I see why many people want to use integrated calendars as the one inside of FreshService leaves a lot to be desired.I had to do the work twice because it did not work the way I anticipated (or the way the support staff indicated it should). I asked what time zone items were displayed in ahead of time and was told the Helpdesk > Rebranding time zone setting drove the calendar.Our use case-We have several groups across the world that have different maintenance windows and blackout periods.  We would like the calendar to show in the time zone of the person viewing it, but it links to the time zone of the person entering it. Need to be able to filter to a time frame and keep that view, but each action returns to default week at glace view. Is it possible to get a specific software application (by name) using the api?The only way this appears possible at the moment is to use the “List All Software” endpoint with the pagination options (“per_page” and “page” parameters) to make repeated calls to the API until all software has been returned, then filter the results client side.However, this is inefficient, especially when there are 1000s of software records in the Asset database (due to discovery agents/probes).In the front end, the software list can be filtered by using the “search software” field. I feel like such a noob asking this question… but…I’m building an automator.I’ve done an API GET agent detailsI’ve parsed that in a parser node: P5.I’m seeking to pull out the agent groups that the agent is a member of, specifically just the first one.  I can do this by configuring the json parser to return a scalar integer for member_of instead of returning an array of integers - but this feels brittle to me.  The moment that someone regenerates that parser node, it will break.I want to access the first element of the array of integers in a placeholder expression, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out the right syntax, and half an hour of googling has brought me no closer to a resolution.This place holder:{{P5.root.agent.member_of.member_of_number}}...returns an array of integers which is the agent groups for the agent I'm GETting.  I’ve tried the following placeholder variations, and they all return nulls:{{P5.roo

Hello, We are near releasing Freshservice, and I recently discovered a security flaw. Users can change the requester's field to email. This is risky because a user can impersonate another during ticket submission. I discovered this script below, but it does not work all the time. I am trying to get the name of the logging officer into a placeholder (Freshservice does not have such a field!) To do this I am using the Fresh v2 web API. To do this I am doing a GET request to https://sjchh.freshservice.com/api/v2/tickets/{{ticket.id_numeric}}/activitiesThis is getting the activities fine, and it picks up the name of the agent for each activity under $.activities[*].actor.nameUnfortunately, my plan of getting it out of $.activities[0].actor.name as the first recorded activity doesn’t work because Fresh returns the JSON array in order of last activity to first activity. Does anyone know how to get the highest indexed activity? So I have six activities, the highest indexed activity would be number five, so I want to access $.activities[5].actor.name  

I see a few people have stated this same thing in the past few years but I have not seen any relevant responses as to why we can not change this. I would be curious if anyone gets “relevant” information when it is sorted by relevance as my company has to manually change it every time to Date Created. Why can it not just default to this?? The previous questions were set to ARCHIVED and i don’t see where they got a good answer to as to why this is set this way?! Thank you

Hi All,I’m walking the very fine line between what I believe to be best practice and what staff want.In our IT workspace we are using the change ticket type for any changes required to IT infrastructure whether that’s hardware or software. For example, we need to update a piece of software on an individual server or across all devices.We have a very large number of developers, none are agents and can only view their own tickets. Some have requested be ability to be able to log change requests, but I’m trying to push back on this. I’d like them to log all their requests as regular tickets and if a change is required we (service desk) then log a change request and associate the ticket initiating the change.How do others handle groups or individuals requesting infrastructure changes through FreshService? Is there anything in ITIL on how best to control this? Thanks!Conor
