Enhancements to the marketplace for easy integration with apps.. Coming soon!

Related products: Freshdesk

We will be launching a new Marketplace app gallery for Freshdesk. You can now access your favourite apps on the Freshworks Marketplace, from within your Freshdesk instance.

These new features were built to help you and developers make the best use of our Marketplace, to build and install more apps that can help with workflows.

Here’s how the new Marketplace features can help you

  1. App Discovery: Discovering new apps on the Freshworks marketplace was disconnected from the product. To discover apps, you had to visit the marketplace website. You can now explore our recommendations, Collections, popular apps, etc. right within your admin console.  Just go to Admin > Support operations > Apps or just search for “Apps” on the search bar.
  2. Richer gallery experience:  With the new in-product Marketplace, your agents will be able to learn about apps easier and faster using detailed app explainer videos, improved screenshots.
  3. In-product recommendations will help in pushing contextual app recommendations on product pages (Ticket details, text editor, tickets list, etc). So if we notice that your agents are doing some repetitive tasks, our AI would automatically recommend the best apps to help them with their workflows.
  4. TRY before you BUY - Paid App trials - With our ecosystem of apps on an uptrend, we see more developers come up with innovative solutions for our customers and their agents. Some of these, which are paid apps, had a small restriction of buying before trying. With the new Marketplace, you can make use of the 21 days free trial for all paid apps, and experience the power of an app before you actually buy it.
  5. Offline Payments - If you’re a customer using offline payments, you can now install paid apps seamlessly, without having to worry about reaching our support/billing teams.
  6. App Logs - You can now view app logs for up to an hour from any date and time in the new gallery. This will help you track the usage of apps and understand the impact of using these apps.

Here’s how the new Marketplace features can help developers build better apps

  1. Complete local testing simulation - Developers building apps for you in the new Marketplace, can now test and perform edge case testing by simulating it as a custom app. This gives developers the flexibility to test on our platform and remove the hassle of using middleware.
  2. App logs- You and your developers will now be able to view app logs for up to an hour from any date and time in the new gallery. This will help you get a complete context of app usage, help analyze & understand the importance of using apps in their workflows.
  3. Performance upgrades: You and your developers will now be able to experience a faster, lighter Marketplace that takes the load off our products and perform more efficiently. Here are some other performance upgrades,
  • No more controllers - Product- side to render the Gallery experience.

  • No delight metrics - Marketplace controllers do not have to worry about delight metrics.

  • Lightweight I-frame - Faster loading time since the new marketplace app panels will be embedded into the product front-end.

  • Instant Publishing-  Custom apps can now be published in under 2 Mins vs 30 minutes previously.

4.Updated UX Elements:  Since Freshworks as a brand is going through a transformation, our updated UX elements will undergo a change, with uniform Freshworks design to the new marketplace gallery. Also,

  • Improved Usability for you & your developers, designed from scratch

  • Uniform Experience across products and the Marketplace website.

  • Direct one-click install from the Marketplace website.

Cheers!:)

Thank god the UI is being updated here - it’s such a pain that when you checking through apps right now that you can’t get back to your search, can’t open the app’s summary in a new tab or look at the summary in a modal/quick view. Instead you’re forced to redo your search each time. :face_palm:

Looking forward to this improvement!
