Recover deleted users

Hi Tim, We don't have a way of doing this via API currently. For now, you will have to go to the Freshdesk agent portal, view the list of deleted users and restore the user from there. We will take your question as a feature request and let you know if we decide to take it up.

If you are unable to install due to a permissions issue, please type in 'sudo' before the command and enter your password when prompted to do so.

This is on the roadmap for later this year. We have been waiting for our search revamp to be completed so that when we do roll it out, the performance will be much faster.

Contacts import only showing first 30 entries

Yes, the default is 30 results per page, although as you note you can get back upto a 100 using the per_page parameter. You can get the next page of the results using the 'page' parameter.  The 'link' header in the response will hold the next page url if exists. If you have reached the last page of objects, then the link header will not be set. For e.g. Headers: "link":< https://domain.freshdesk.com/api/v2/tickets?filter=all_tickets&page=2>;rel="next" Currently it is not possible to export the company names as part of the contacts API. You will have to use the company API and then make the correlation. However, I do see the use case of having it here. Let me investigate the feasibility of this with the engineering team.

Ability to specify optional fields/additional field attributes in the API endpoint

It is now possible to retrieve the closed_at, resolved_at and first_responded_at time when you view a ticket or view a list of tickets. Just add include=stats to the URL.  If you are using this info to check if the SLA has been met, you can compare the resolved_at and first_responded_at  timestamp values with the "due_by" and "fr_due_by" values that are already part of the ticket response. More details here - http://developers.freshdesk.com/api/#view_a_ticket (look at the "Embed" table)

Any plans for expansion of 2.0 samples?

You are right, the v2 samples are currently designed only to provide examples of how to make the API calls and not deal with the response. Since error handling was an area that we improved in the v2.0 APIs, the samples also show how to check for the right HTTP status and how to retrieve the X-request-ID header if you need to contact us for support. The JSON data in the response has changed slightly i.e the outer element has been removed so I understand that this can be confusing. We will look to add a few samples to show how you can iterate through the response in PHP. If you can elaborate a bit more on what you will like to see in the samples, we will use the feedback to make the samples more useful.We plan to keep the v1 around until the end of the year, I hope that this is sufficient time to migrate from v1 to v2.

Hi Michael,I'm sorry if my reply was not clear. What I meant was that we are looking into providing the fields that you are looking for as optional fields. The mechanism would be similar to include=conversations. Hence, it may look like include=stats and we could send these fields.The reason we went with this model is that we had users complaining that we were sending too much information back with our v1 APIs. With v2, we have decided to adopt a more modular approach, we send the bare minimum and send additional information only when requested to do so.

We do something similar to what you are requesting for "View a Ticket" i.e when you say "include=conversations" we send additional information along with a ticket. We are currently exploring the possibility of sending some additional info such as resolved, closed, first response, and resolution times. We have not made a decision yet, I will post an update here once we have decided.

Using custom_field in Create Ticket API

Currently, you cannot create custom fields via API, they need to be created via the portal. Access to Tags via API

Tags on a ticket can be updated via the new v2.0 API - http://developer.freshdesk.com/api/#update_ticketWe are currently looking into the feasibility of adding tags to the list of tickets (as an optional field). I will post an update as soon as I can.

Get updated API data from a given date

We have included this API for tickets as part of the new generation v2.0 APIs -http://developer.freshdesk.com/api/#list_all_tickets. The updated_since filter will enable you to get only the tickets that you need. It's still in beta, but you can try it out and see if it meets your needs.
