Ability to Create Reports based on what software is running on Computers

Can't believe I need to make this as a feature request.   Shouldn't there be a way to generate a simple report based on what software is running on Computer Assets that have the Discovery Agent installed?

For instance if I want to generate a report that shows me all computers that have Java installed and what version of Java they are running, shouldn't that be a simple process?

Apparently Freshservice currently does not have this ability?

Agree, we need to get a report about licenses and machines usage...We will start to think about change freshservice for another usable and updated tool.

Agree.

This is bordering on ridiculous. I wanted to publish a custom report to my team about which assets have vulnerable versions of Adobe Acrobat/Reader installed (ref https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/acrobat/apsb20-48.html), and am flabbergasted to discover that there is no way to do this.

Hi there. I cannot see any progress here, correct?

Still Beta?

This is a make or break feature. Meaning, if I can't get the data I need we have to find another tool. I've opened up a ticket to get the raw data so we can do it ourselves, but have yet to hear back.

when will the software export feature be made available?  any tool can inventory, it's the reporting features that make great tools standout like ServiceNow!

I see this is still in Beta.

Our Executive Director is calling on me to provide a report of software used in our environment and would really like to leverage Freshservice for this.

Has there been any progress on a way to export/report software assets?

Thanks!

Being relatively new to Freshservice I've come across this thread whilst trying to figure out how to report on and/or export Software Asset Management data for the purposes of software licence utilisation and compliance purposes... it's disappointing to learn that I can't!

The Software Asset Management module that has been developed is very good, however the functionality that's missing is essential for the module to be of any value to my organisation.  Without it then the module is of very little use.

Is there an estimated timeframe of when this additional functionality will be released?

Folks, I missed updating this thread. Software Asset Management is now available for all customers and I hope you have had a chance to give it a go.  Btw, it's still in Beta as we will be adding more capabilities (export, better filtering, manual create/update..etc).

i would like to try this when its available

So, can folks now view reports of software on their computers? The agent does a great job of inventorying the software but I'm not seeing how I can get a full data dump for all hardware assets.

Put us on the list to try..

Updates on the Software Asset Management feature can be found here: https://support.freshservice.com/support/discussions/topics/318463

@Ken, we chose to go with the revamp instead of the report as the new SAM model allows for greater flexibility in day to day use and also solve reporting needs in the long term.

@Cdennis, Thanks for the info. The Install Date and Last Used is not part of the initial scope. But versions will be available.
