API search/tickets with custom field returns no results

 I'm trying to get tickets that match a custom field using the `search/tickets` interface. There results are always empty: no found tickets.

I'm using a query string of "cf_tracking:\'1234\'"

I get a 200 response with no results. If the name is wrong, I get a 400 error, so I assume I have the correct syntax and request.

I have at least one ticket with `1234` in the tracking field, so it should give at least one result.

I have the same issue. Number type fields seem to work, but strings do not.

Same here.  It's so incredibly frustrating there is no good way to search for tickets based on custom text fields.
