Hi Team,

Is there any API to close(update API) ticket in Freshdesk without giving values for madatory fields.

Natively from the frontend application menu, the option to skip mandatory checks on API update is not available however the same can be enabled from a backend update. 

Request to send an email to support@freshdesk.com requesting for mandatory check removal for API update on ticket. Also, mention the Instance URL for enabling the same.

We have developed and published an automerger App in Freshdesk Marketplace. 

We are using update API for the below points,

  1. To capture(using custom field) the primary ticket ID in duplicate ticket. 
  2. To add the Tag like “Auto merge” in the duplicate ticket
  3. Close the duplicate ticket

If there is any mandatory field in the duplicate ticket, the update API fails to close and capture the the primary ticket ID.

 

kindly help us on how to skip the mandatory fields.

Disabling mandatory check on API update for a ticket can be enabled Instance (URL) wise. Hence, Request to send an email to support@freshdesk.com requesting for mandatory check removal for API update on ticket. Also, mention the Instance URL for enabling the same.

We are not sure about the URL since the App is in marketplace anyone can install the App.

So it should be public API and also applicable for who are all using the APP.
