looking for a way to cleanup the shop a bit. i have tons of items - mostly with long name
is there a way to change the layput like with a CSS?
a list-view wo be great for the shop

Yes, a custom list view is possible. You just need to use CSS to adjust the view for requesters. We switched to a layout that displays two items per row.
You can find these options in your Service Desk settings, under Portal settings.
