Hi,

As well as being able to CC customers, could you also add the ability to BCC them as well? It's a good thing not to expose other customers email addresses when doing a maintenance notification, or other mass mailings.

We were using BCC field to send mails to our CRM...

This is a much needed feature for our organization as well.

We need to send notifications to 100 people and cannot do this via a different email account with mail merge, we need to keep this on freshdesk.

Not sure if there is anything other than sending all 100 individually using a canned response...

Really need to be able to craft 1 email, and bcc the multiple email addresses it's going to.

Is there any update on the bcc function on a new ticket

Go to Admin then in top group "Support" click E-Mailadress on top right above your "adress setting" there is a BCC option, we are using it.

Or is that not what you are looking for?

Thanks for the suggestion Christian, but that setting is to make it so when you send emails (in general) a specific address gets BCC'ed everytime.

We need the ability to BCC multiple contacts on a single email as needed (not a setting for all emails).

What I'm saying is - imagine I need to send the exact same email to 40 people, but if I CC it would show recipients the email addresses for all other recipients. Using normal email clients you would simply BCC everyone, therefore hiding the recipients list from the group you are messaging.

Currently when you go to send an email in freshdesk there is a CC option, but no BCC.

Thanx Christian Klarkner (MotoSpeed). That solution is great for anyone for CRM need. I'm suprised that no one from Freshdesk reply with this suggestion.

Still, there is need for BCC filed in outgoing mail.

cheers,
VB

We have recently signed up and also require a BCC field on our outgoing emails for the reasons stipulated above. Only having the BCC function in replies, forwards or as a default for all emails, but not for normal outgoing emails is baffling. I can only assume this was an oversight and a correction is now imminent, a mere 7 months after the issue as initially raised.

+1 on making the BCC field available when sending outgoing mail! We often send outgoing mails to inform a group of clients about an issue but want the receivers of the mail to remain undisclosed.

Hello Everyone,

We completely understand that sending emails to multiple customers at one shot will be useful for notifying them about maintenance or other issues. I wanted to find out any of you are looking for bcc to copy supervisors or maintain log of all communication. If so, could you please shed more on your business and the problem you are facing without bcc functionality?

We have to send emails out regarding system training to multiple users at once when adding them to our system. We use BCC to maintain user privacy.

We also need this kind of 'mailing' functionality. This cannot be 'outsourced' to a solution like mailchimp, because we need this email - and future replies to it - right inside Freshdesk.

Perhaps Freshdesk can solve this in another way. Thinking out loud. For example: the agent wants to send an email to a group of 20 clients. He opens the current 'new email' function and creates the message. In a new field (let's call it 'mailing') the agent enters the 20 email addresses separated by semicolon. Then he hits the send button. In the background, Freshdesk now duplicates this email 20 times, creating and sending 20 separate tickets, each with only 1 client email address in the to field.

Benefits:

(1) Agent needs to create only 1 email instead of 20.

(2) No bcc functionality needed. The email is personal.

(3) Replies from clients to this 'mailing' are normal replies to a single ticket.

@Janani

Any news / updates?

@Janani: The use case is: You want to BCC your leadership team/supervisor/manager/anyone without letting the customer know. This is required from the operations point of view wherein you are letting someone know that something is going on.

When is this being made available?

+1 for the need on BCC from within tickets. It seems a bit strange that this is not possible...Any updates on the BCC option Freshdesk?

Aravind,

Why can you BCC in already created tickets, but I can't BCC when creating a new ticket?

How is it possible to make multiple clone tickets or emails?

I take it there is not a way to do this currently.

Jalal Hassan

@Janani: another use case is: some of our senior management/stake holders need to be BCC'd into specific client communications, or for communications to key clients.

Secondly sometimes we communicate directly with the customers of our clients and need to BCC our clients in for visibility whilst protecting their contact information.

Thirdly, our clients have multiple customers - we need to send communications out to multiple customers of our clients, and we are not allowed to share our clients customers details with eachother.

Our team would love to see this feature too! In our case we want to Bcc a customer list with a product notification, and have it come from our Freshdesk address that the customers will recognize.

It's completely ridiculous that this functionality hasn't been implemented yet. Freshdesk is about to lose a large potential customer as BCC on outgoing mail is required functionality for my organisation. Looks like we'll be going down the zen desk route.

Mick I would be more worried about their lack of formal response to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements, to be implemented on 25th May 2018 if you are UK /EU based.

Basically if you are project  lead  for a large company you need to know that  freshdesk  are not clear what their GDPR plans are.  They fail to realise that all responsible UK/EU companies will be forced to jump ship or  run the risk of  court proceedings as those great EU gurus have decided that the new regulations will be decided by case law.  Zendesk is creating a model that is open an telling you what they are doing, Freshdesk is very secretive and closed on the subject.

Since there are no actual laws in GPDR only principals, you dont know if you are breaking the law unless someone objects and then the trial finds against you. Since I am not in a postion to fight. I'll  bail out before. At least with Zendesk they are giving information and you can point to their literature and  to illustrate that you took reasonable precautions.

Best of luck

Alison

compare this with Zendesk  - who have a website dedicated to GDPR and I guess I know where Im headed come May 2018  , unless freshdesk take this seriously.
