Hi,

Just a small feature request: would it be possible to add the ability to hide the Forum tab if there are no forums set up for the helpdesk?

Regards,
Goran

Hi Goran,
We will include the ability to show/tide tabs soon. Thanks for your feedback.

Has this been implemented?  I can't find it anywhere.  We are really just looking to use the support ticket part.  This request is from more than a year ago, where can I find it?

Would like to add our vote for this feature request.  We hesitate to launch the support portal without being able to hide the forum.  Is there a target date for this enhancement?

Hi Guys

CSS Portal Customization is almost done. We will bring this out in the next 2-3 weeks, which will allow you to customize the entire portal

I would also like to see this extra functionality.

Hi, Alex,

You can do this with the CSS Portal Customization that they will be rolling out soon.  I've been testing the beta and it looks pretty good so far.  Really looking forward to the release!

Any chance I can be added to the beta for this? I need to turn off Solutions and Forums, and other customizations would be great. If not, id there an ETA for the next release and a list of what it might include?

I am just now evaluating this product and was looking everywhere for this feature. It looks like this was supposed to be added to the product months ago. What is the progress?

I do not need a forum, I have one already.

Also, I saw something about CSS, blah blah. I hope that I do not have to do programming just to customize the top level menu to omit certain items.

Any progress on this? I'm holding off deploying this to customers as i don't want anyone using the forum!

It will be a very useful feature include the ability to hide Forum and Solutions tabs.

I would  like to see this extra functionality very soon.

Thanks

Hi, Girish mentioned this as coming soon.......back in April 2011, then seemed to get put back and put back.

We must have the ability to hide the different functional components, particularly forums.  We can't deploy Freshdesk without this, and may have to go looking for a competing solution if it's not on its way.  Is this any closer?

Hey guys,

Sorry for leaving the thread hanging. Yes, we are releasing the full CSS customization very soon. We were supposed to push it out last week but unfortunately couldn't because of some unforeseen issues.

Please bear with us for a little while more.

Thanks for all your feedback and posts in the forums.

Annapoorna

Will this only be available through CSS customization?
I'd rather just have a button "Show the forum for this portal", which i can then turn off.

Regards,

Sander

Hey Sander,

Right now, it is available only via CSS customization.

But we are thinking about bringing in a Turn ON/OFF feature for solutions and forums across all plans. But still in the thought process. No idea about ETAs.

Thanks,

Annapoorna

Hi Annapoorna,

Instead I've removed all the forums for now.

I'm also trying to hide "Check ticket status".
I've gone through all the tabs at the Portal Customization section, I cannot find anything related to "Check ticket status" in the layout & pages section.

Can you tell me how to do this? The articles in the solution centre are all too vague and high level to offer a solution.

Sander

For those of us who aren't CSS savvy, can you provide a guide on how to remove the Forums tab via CSS?  Also, can you look into being able to remove certain parts of the forum?  For example, I'd like to remove "report a problem" because I'd rather have someone put a ticket in than post that to the forum.

Hey Sander,

I can sure help you out with hiding the "Check Ticket Status" from your portal page.

  • Go to Admin>>Helpdesk Rebranding
  • Click on "Customize Portal" seen on the top right
  • Choose the "Layout & Pages" tab
  • In the "Page Layout" section, remove all the text which is enclosed  between <!-- Search and page links for the page --> and <!-- Notifocation Messages for the page  --> which is seen in orange.
  • Now, copy the HTML content in the file I have attached here in the same space.

Bingo!, hit preview and see the Check Ticket Status all hidden :)
Please note that you can do this only if you are in the Estate plan.

Let me know if it worked!

Thanks,
Annapoorna

Hey Sam,

I can understand the difficulty of finding your way through all that weird looking HTML codes and CSS stuff :) Infact a lot of our customers are asking for detailed steps on doing all that CSS magic on their portal.

We will definitely do something about it like come up with a guide for doing the basic tinkering, etc.

Thanks,

Annapoorna

@Annapoorna ... How can you hide the Forum tab with CSS?  The navigation tabs do not have IDs or individual classes.  I have the Estate plan so I'll change it through HTML but for those that don't have this option, I don't see a way to do this.

Annapoorna,

I don't want to remove "new ticket" , or the telephone number, which your suggestion does.

I ONLY want to remove "Check ticket status".

Your image upload control doesn't work, so i linked it from a different website...

Can you provide me with a solution for this?

Regards,

Sander

Hi Folks

To remove a module - Soln or Forums from the External view.

Just login as Admin -> Click on Forums -> Select the FORUM or SOLUTION Category -> EDIT and DELETE the Category

Once the Category is deleted, it will not show up in the external Customer Portal side itself.

Vijay
