Ability to link Parent from Child

At present there is only the ability to link a child to a ticket rather than link a parent e.g. you have a Major Incident occur but you have to open the major incident in order to link your child ticket to it. There is no ability to link your ticket to the Major Incident from the current ticket. 

 

I am unsure why this is the case when you can do this with the change process. Can the ability to link a parent ticket to the child instead of having to have both tickets open and having to link the child ticket from the major incident instead.

I’ve brought this up previously as well - REALLY hampers our Major Incident process because our agents need to KNOW there is a Major Incident, open it on another screen, and link the tickets as they come in from the MI. It got to the point where it was too much for our Service Desk, so they don’t link them at all, and the owners of the Major Incident just keep an eye on ‘all tickets’ and link them as they come in.

 

I believe Problems let you link both ways as well, so it’s odd that Major Incidents do not.

Problems I think are just one way, but Changes you can link both (initiated the change and change initiated the MI). The wording for that is confusing in itself anyways but yeah.
