A uservoice style voting system would be ideal.

Hi Luke,

Currently when you like an idea it counts as “one” vote. We also show how many people like the idea and that is the vote count. We do not have the ability to give customers like 10 or 50 votes and allow them to use 5 votes on one idea, 7 on another etc.

We will be changing the list view of feature requests to display the number of votes (likes) that each feature has. Also we will sort this list by number of votes. (Ie. Features with the most number of votes will be shown on top of the list followed by the feature with the second highest number of votes.)

I assume this capability will extend to the API as well?

It is WAY too hard to figure out where to "vote" or like a feature.  It's not prominent in the UI at all.  It took me several minutes to figure out how people were voting for feature requests.

It is difficult to use this feature. Only logged users see the votes and they need to go into the topic to vote for it.

Hello,

Users can view the number of upvotes/likes on a forum post. The users need to login inorder to comment or add their vote to the topic.

Cheers!

How long does the votes last?  We are working on a tracking mechanism to retain up votes for 3+ years, so wondering if there is a termination period on your servers?

@Ian The votes will last as long as the post stays. Even if you merge the post to a different one, the votes will be transferred over to the merged thread.

Cheers!
