This would provide us the ability to search for 'tags' within the forums to filter the results.

I agree that this makes sense. This should be a part of the product as you can use tags in solutions and tickets already.
+3Indeed. Wouldn't it be great to be able to tag topics so that when the number of feature request creep beyond 500, you could filter on tag!
+1Seeing that this has been here for a while, is there any chance that tags will be added to forum topics anytime soon? This would be invaluable if trying to find topics related to certain product parts, but also if you're offering various versions / flavours of a product, it would be great to categorise posts according to that.
Totally agreed! Tags are a must in a forum, otherwise, it makes it really difficult to group subitems together or categories... We are not on the 90s anymore
