So we can disable automatically enabling a users account when they sign up, but we have no way of be alerted when these users sign up.

It would be a HUGE help, if Agents were able to be notified when a new user signs up so we can manually send them an activation email for their account.

That's a useful request Devoni. I will talk to the Product management team to see if this can be included soon.

How did you disable automatically enabling a user account when they sign up?

I want this and ask it many time to the support, but nothing.

I think that no control on new user signs up is a bad thing, I have a lot of paid and unpaid customers.

This topic is the same:

https://support.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/297495

I want control all users activation/registration to my portal with less work

The best way is put new user into a "waiting list" who should be accepted, and until acception new user can't do anything.

People let's like this idea :-)

Matt,

These are the steps I followed to disable the automatic enabling.

You can go to Admin>Email notifications>Under requester notification, disable the user activation email.

Once this is done Users can sign up but can't login until the Agent goes to the customer tab, chooses the unverified filter and send the activation email manually.

Hope this helps!

For us that isn't exactly adequate to use whom is in the Unverified filter as we imported our database upon initially moving over to FreshDesk and have a multitude of Unverified users within there. In all reality there needs to be some form of "limbo" whereby it alerts you to a new user that has signed up and will allow you to say "Yes" or "No" to sending them an activation.

Devonl I have the same problem "we imported our database upon initially moving over to FreshDesk and have a multitude of Unverified users " see the solution explained above.

I appreciate this is a really old topic, but we are a new customer to Freshdesk and would really like this feature - was it ever implemented?

Chiming in on this one. What's the latest update?

It seems like this would be a simple modification to the Freshdesk customer account provisioning workflow and provide a huge value to us your customers.

Hello Folks,

Will take this up to the product team and see if we can get this added to our roadmap anytime soon. However, for those who're interested in a workaround, it is possible to achieve this workflow by making use of zapier events in collaboration with Freshdesk.

Here's how you can set this up using a zapier account :

1. Signup for a free account in zapier using this link in case if you don't own one already

2. Click on "Make a zap" option and choose the app as "Freshdesk"

3. In the Choose trigger section, select the trigger as "New customer"

4. Connect your Freshdesk account by entering the URL and an admin API key

5. Under actions, choose the app " Freshdesk " and select the option "Create a new ticket"

6. In the setup template section, fill in the required information ( like email, subject, etc ) and then use this url in the description inorder to provide the agent , a direct link to the customer profile . Kindly click on Insert field option available next to the description field and choose USER ID -> https://<yourcompany>.freshdesk.com/contacts/USERID

7. Save the zap and turn it on

This will create a new ticket whenever a contact gets created in the helpdesk . This will send an automated email notification to the agents or you can also trigger a dispatchr rule based on the content of the ticket.

Please drop me a note here in case if you need any further assistance in setting this up.

Cheers!

Hi

I know this is an old thread but since the Admin says he would talk to the dev team, perhaps there has been some progress.

We have the same request:

We want users to register, but want to control activation process to avoid anonymous login.

We created a user registration form,  but having to check the contact list for user pending activation isn't very practical.

Is there a way to connect a trigger to user creation, to tell us there's somebody waiting to be activated?

It would be much appreciated if you could develop this feature.

Many thanks in advance

Hello Hernan!

We currently do not have a direct way to alert the agent whenever a new user is created. But the workaround provided by @Aravind, would definitely help you with your requirement. However, we have already passed the feedback to our product team. You can follow this space for any updates on the new features/enhancements from us.

Cheers!
