FreshService Locations do not allow custom fields today.
Where it is important to maintain details about locations and not just physical location, it would be extremely helpful to be able to add custom fields here.
In our use case, here are examples of Custom Fields we’d use on Locations:
- Add hyperlink which references various external documentation such as a sharepoint site
- Physical access notes (badging or check-in process, etc)
- Online mapping links such as google maps
- Group assignment (useful when there is a regional group)
- etc.
None of the existing features provide a workaround, and it is not helpful to try to add custom fields as CI items on assets -- locations have a dedicated function in FreshService and we need to reference the Location record itself.
