When working with huge workflows and deleting parts of it, the nodes do not rearrange if there is no connecting node next to it.

Please integrate a function to automatically rearrange the workflow nodes to use a less space as possible.

Example of a really messy workflow:

OMG yes please! I have several workflows that I have had to go back and edit with business changes and they get very messy very quickly!

Selfishly I’m going to bump this one as it really needs more traction!

This is desperately needed.

I have a work around I use to clean up spacing in some of ours. If there is nothing blocking one of the legs of the workflow, you can temporarily add a node in the big spacing between and remove it, then the system will shrink it down. Again this only works if nothing is blocking one of the other legs of the workflow.

It is a pain in the butt but it does help shrink things down for visibility.

To also prevent some of this extra spacing from occurring, we started adding “Spacer” Condition nodes that have a expression as a condition of 1==1 for spacer to go right and 1==2 if we want it to go down. We remove the spaces after everything in place and it keeps the shape we want if it has to branch out a lot.

I would love for this to get implemented. Messy workflows are really hard to maintain. We find ourselves adding nodes temporarily to rearrange the layout and then going back to remove those unnecessary nodes just so it looks cleaner.

I would guess they will include something like this with the looping workflow functionality that was slated for late this year (last I saw). We can only hope :)

For the love of everything, this feature needs added desperately. So many workflows are just webs of misaligned mess. 😞

This needs to happen and doesnt feel like something that would be that hard to do.
