The status pages are great, but I think a huge improvement would be to make the statuses accessible via the API. I’d like to programmatically be able to change the status of the service given the actual status of the service without having to have to change it while we are experiencing a problem - any manual task (like changing the status of a service) while we are experiencing an outage/issue is detrimental to the team making the change.

@mbutler I couldn’t agree with this more! Any manual/mundane task that takes away focus from the actual pursuit of a solution is detrimental and should have some way to leverage automation to help teams remain on task. Great suggestion!

@Ammar KB - I submitted this post a while ago. I would love to implement a status page for our organization, but not having a way to interact with the status page via the API is a deal-breaker for me which has led to us choosing to not implement it.

I’d love to have a way to implement the status page and use my workflows and automations to update the status page programmatically via the API. Is anything like this on the roadmap for this year?

@mbutler Are you using Alert Management?  If you have your alert monitoring mapped to your services, the status on the service automatically changes as alerts are opened/resolved.

@mattdurant - I am using alert monitoring, but I don’t have them mapped to services quite yet. I’ll have to look into it a little further - thank you for letting me know!
