Approve or Reject Multiple Requests

Our organization requires Manager Approval for the majority of the Service Items in our catalog. Unfortunately, what this means is that from time to time, the manager’s approval queue can build up.

It would be great to see a way for the approver to have a Select All button to click or for the ability to select multiple requests at a time and click Approve or Reject with their comments being applied to all selected requests.

Current state is that an approver has to open each individual item and approve or reject, which can be time consuming for the approver.

    While I could see this being helpful at first glance, I would argue against implementing this at the org I admin due to the below:

    • If a service item is regarding a sensitive/security sensitive item or change request, rendering a blanket/blind approval could result in things being approved that expose the organization to unnecessary risk
    • Similarly, if there is a cost to a service item and the manager is bulk approving approving things, the org is going to be encumbered with potentially unnecessary cost

    Instead, I would look at your most frequently requested service items and ask if you really require a manager approval on “routine” items to make the biggest lift with smallest effort off those folks who are lagging.
