Currently, article visibility is restricted to folders and that makes it challenging to integrate our support-facing articles with our customer-facing articles. This is primarily helpful for those of us with large knowledge bases who have many categories. I don’t want to have to create a separate “Support Article” folder with a repeat of all of my categories under that folder in addition to my customer-facing structure.

Or at least if there’s a way to do this with the portal code and article tags that would be amazing.

Agree completely - it would save Agents a ton of time navigating to special access folders. I think it would also be great to display an article’s visibility on the article itself - so Agents could see directly on the article whether it’s visible to everyone, logged in users, or agents only.

Have you had any success doing things with portal code and article tags? I tried to achieve something similar to above with tags/code, but never had any luck.

Yes! In our previous KB we had a little padlock icon to indicate which articles were agent facing only. This would be so helpful.

I haven’t had any luck either :( although, we’re considering purchasing a custom theme before we launch the KB) - may see if the developers of this theme are able to do some JS/CSS magic to hide articles with specific tags. Haven’t gotten that far yet though. And this feature seems like something that should definitely be included in the FreshDesk KB.
