Hello everyone,

I've seen a helpful feature in other (ITAM) systems that's missing in Freshservice.

Here's how it works: Once an asset is assigned to an employee, an automated email notification is sent to the employee's registered email address. This email includes all asset details, its condition, and a link for the employee to approve ownership. This approval information is then recorded on the asset's page, including the approval date.

This addition would greatly improve asset management and transparency in Freshservice.

This would be a great feature for our Asset Management and I do think a lot of organisations would find this extremely useful.

When we issue out a Corporate iPad, Mobile phone, or laptop.. having a check list to show what was initially provided e.g. cable, wall adapter, tough case, bag, screen protector, car charger would be great so that the users can approve that they have received all items.

That’s a fantastic idea! We are currently relying on power automate to do that through MS Teams. Having this feature in freshservice would make our life much easier

It’s the registrering/approval part is the issue as of per day.

You can do this with a 2 step, a  WFA can be triggered when Used By is updated.

That WFA  can create a Ticket using API with the Asset associated.
Second WFA triggered when the ticket is created and a approval e-mail is sent(Optional with API) out to the user.
When it’s approved  we update the asset using API with relevant info. When you look at the asset you can see tickets associated with so you have a history.

Would love this too! Currently I work around it by using a Workflow to create a ticket with the asset associated, when an asset is assigned or unassigned from a user, then a reply is sent to the user asking them to reply and confirm. Its a bit messy, but it documents it.
