Asset Due Date

In our company we have employees that are working for a certain time period and need to return their assets when the time period is up.  Could you put a due date option on asset screen somewhere so that we could enter a due date for when equipment is due back and an email notification like the one for warranty expiration to let the helpdesk know that equipment is due?
