Dear community,

when we associate assets to a Change or Incident, if the Assets are spread across multiple pages, we cannot multi-select and add the assets. It has to be done one page at a time.

We have asked for an enhancement, so that users can select all assets they need (multi-select on several pages) and it will be evaluated.

If this enhancement would also be a great help for your users I would appreciate your feedback! If demand is high, the enhancement is more likely to be implemented!

Thanks,

Cécile

I get asked about this feature every Chage Approval Board Meeting. The current process of associating one asset at a time when you are dealing with a Change to multiple assets, such as infrastructure devices is absolutely painful…

We are getting ready to implement assets within our FS environment. I’m surprised to hear that you have to select one asset at a time - that will be painful if not addressed. Multi-select and filter options are a must. IT people always use a schema when naming devices (or at least they should). If I needed to update all of my routers for example, I’d love to be able to use ‘%modelnumber%’ to filter to all those devices by Device Type or Name

For clarification: You can associate mutliple assets from the same page, one page shows about 30 assets.

If you need assets from multiple pages, one would expect that you can check the boxes for each asset that you need to assign to the change. But that does not work. You can only select mutliple assets from the same one page and assign them. Then again continue and go to the the next page from which you need assets, assign them. And so forth...

Thanks, Cecile - This is good info to have. I’m looking to implement assets really soon, so I haven’t had an opportunity to play with it quite yet.
