Being able to sort on all columns in Tickets table view

On the tickets table view, you can only sort the tickets on a few columns, like date created, priority and status.

But it would help a lot if I was able to sort on any column, including columns from custom fields I've added.

For my situation; I've created a custom date field 'Customer reaction expected date’. If I know a customer won't be able to look at his case this week, I use this field set a date in the future. When I'm able to sort on this date, I can see exactly which cases I need to work on today and don't have to bother with cases due for next week (or tomorrow)

Just ran into this as well, would definitely be nice to be able to sort on custom date fields at a bare minimum.

Can we sort by Customer, group, priority, tag, etc… all in the current view, without having to filter by those specific areas. Maybe I want to answer all the open tickets by one customer so I can answer them all more quickly than filtering by each customer. There may only be a handful, I don’t want to filter each one out. I just want to see it all in the current view.

You can enter little carrots to sort by each category as shown below.

I can sort now, started a few weeks ago. 

In the view I use I can now additionally sort by Subject and Type but the initial idia was to be able to sort by any column which is still not possible.

@alyssia.correa, is there any ETA on when this will be implemented? This has been a severe pain point for my team since we migrated from Jira to Freshservice. We especially need the ability to sort by custom date fields.

what is missing to be useful as well is not only the sort but also a “filter as you type” per column feature.. Same as in Excel for example

Sorting these columns alphabetically is something I have also.

I would use this many times a day if it were available.

I have experienced significant frustration with FD, having reported numerous areas for improvement that have yet to be addressed. Regrettably, I have now resigned myself to accepting the product with its evident flaws.

All the column headings we can select from in the Ticket view should be sortable and available in the Basic and Advanced filter!  We DESPERATELY need Status to be sortable!!

You can sort on status..

 

But not on custom fields, which is annoying

Lots of easy win from coding point of view and still not finished. Lots of features I was looking for was mentioned as idea here years ago and nothig changed. I have to force the company to change the helpdesk at all.

Hello from Freshworks! Apologies for the delay in updating this thread.

What we've shipped so far:

  • Sorting is available for some default fields, as well as custom dropdown, number, and text fields.

  • These columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order.

  • Tickets within a page (30/60/100) are sorted accordingly.

What's not possible yet:

  1. Sorting based on date or dependent fields.

  2. Sorting all tickets applicable to a view across all pages.

  3. Saving a view based on how a column is sorted.

We plan to address these gaps in the long term, but don’t have an ETA at the moment. We’re reopening this Idea—please keep the feedback coming. Thanks!
