I agree as well because eliminating 180 per year per X amount of customers is a monetary loss to some degree. As for updates, they have a blog and should use it but I think they are not engaging because then it would project that they are moving in the direction of offering and falsely project a commitment that doesnt actually exist. However, if they want to think three dimensional then they should hypothesize of the business they have actually lost because of their lack of BYOSSL or alternative options. Sure, offering a change will impact financial, at first, but in the long run being competitive and even offering a service for $25 would soon catch up and be positive ROI.

Im unsure how long Freshdesk plans to be around when the competition has increasingly better options. We got Freshdesk for the price and because their reps are quite responsive to us but found out about the SSL post implementation, probably like everyone else. We love Freshdesk but they need to change some things to maintain their competitiveness.

It's pretty frustrating we're not getting any official feedback from Freshdesk!

This is getting to the point where we're not doing any further integration and will be looking for alternatives.

Hi,

Can we expect answer or any response anytime soon? We are having a lot of errors and complications because of this.

Thank you

Even if they would update and just said they understand everyone's point of view and something they will continue to consider would suffice. The negativity is already existing in this thread so at this point whether they say anything or not our points of views, suggestions and gripes still stand. At least acknowledging customers goes a better way than not.

Yes I agree with this discussion. I am a potential client and am running a trial and really like the software. I came across the SSL issue just recently near the end of my trial and had this exact conversation. I'm glad I'm not the only one let down by this, I also brought up the lets encrypt option. They informed me that it couldn't be done on the lower tiers at this time such as garden.

Hello everyone,

We're definitely serious about getting this shipped as we've been seeing the requests roaring up with time. At the moment, we haven't started work on this yet but this is something that sits at the top of our queue. While that might not be an affirmative answer to all who're expecting this feature, we still wanted to let you all know that we'll soon begin work on this.

To be honest, I have stayed silent long enough that I'm not going to let this thread slip away anymore! I'll keep updating the thread as and when we make some progress on this.

Cheers!

Hello Aravind,

Thank you for you last post informing us about the plans to work on our issue regarding the certificates. I guess many people are, like me, eagerly awaing the solution.

Is there anything new you can tell us? Some date that everybody can use to judge for himself whether he can await the solution?

Thank you

Best regards

Klaus

lol have to laugh at

Looking for some fine-print?

Well, there isn’t any!

With Freshdesk, you pay exactly what you sign up for and that’s that. No extra, under-the-rug pricing.

Its kind of like leaving the main ingredient out of a soup. The lack of this needs to be explained up front because it is a huge deal breaker for many. Given the first comment on this was 5 years ago, Im thinking that is more than enough time to have implemented something so it is unlikely to be forthcoming. I strongly urge reconsideration on this as its pretty much industry standard. Companies are looking to lessen costs and decrease maintenance where it is possible, not increase them. We are still contented with Freshdesk but a  BYOSSL would make our day.

We literally went to zoho desk because of this, i pushed for freshdesk as I think it's easier to use out of the gate but in the end money talks. Cheaper plan, more options and free ssl cert hard to pass up.

Yeh.. we are out. I really quite liked this and paid for the service only to get hit by this.  Have gone with a self hosted solution (zammad) and cancelled.  Never had to set anything up so fast in my life. Not quite as nice as freshdesk but this sort of behaviour is not on and should not be encouraged.

@AndyBird Zammad is no really a alternative for me: --> No Forum.
And another said, Zoho is a Alternative..... NEVER ! I come from Zoho, and this Soft is a absolutely desaster. Config here, config there..... horrible.

I ithink, freshdesk is a cool tool. The setup is easy - but this bug with this SSL-Problem.... this is hard!
We all need a Solution - yet, not in 2 years. Then without a propper SSL-Solution, the functionality of the "portals" is not given. And that this functionality costs 180$ per year per Portal..... this we can't read in the overview.

@freshdesk Pleas tell us, what is the roadmap for this Problem !

Drafting the email to send out company wide and getting the custom URL setup. Then I see this. Really? I have to walk this back for additional approval now? This is laughable and am now exploring the competition.

Hi Billy

Yes, this is very hard and freshdesk sleeps..... no answer, no action. Nothing.

Best regrads, Markus

@Freshdesk- Just so you're aware this issue has become a show stopper for me. My customers use my service (www.vanishedvpn.com) for security and privacy, and the fact that they are presented with a security warning in their browser when they try and access my knowledge base is unacceptable. You have reported that you have been working a solution for this for years now, but clearly don't want to listen to your customers.

Enough is enough. I have initiated a piece of work to migrate away from Freshdesk to a better solution.

Very poor service.

I'm sure I'm not the 1st to leave you for this reason, and I won't be the last.

@Philbr>Can you tell me, what service you have choosen?
For me, freshdesk is very good (much much more than zoho) - but with the SSL-thematic, there is a very great show-stopper on board :-(
Greetings, Markus

We missed this part when we checked out Freshdesk. To bad because the system overall seems to be pretty good but can't say that I'm happy with the extra cost but if it actually is a shared certificate, that just seems poor.

Hoping to get an update soon on the roadmap.

@Aravind, any news ?

Any update on this. We're using freshservice and the SSL "problem" is more than annoying.

That's the reason why we didn't recommend freshservice to others.

Paying that amount of money for non-professional certficates sharing 30-40 domains with other customres is not what one would expect

Especially using let's encrypt certificates

Is there an eta? Surprised this is still an issue.

Hello
Why does freshdesk not answer here???
This is a little bit ..... how to say: special.

Thanks

The first item in this forum is 5 years old, and we are still asking. This is the cyber version of beating a dead horse.
