Hey there,

It would be a nice feature to be able to Bulk Update an Asset State. For example updating a large number of decommissioned pieces of network gear, and set them all to “Retired” instead of having to do them one by one.

Thanks!

Hi @kevinl-stcu,

You should be able to do this currently. You may have to filter down your assets to just hardware, but once you filter to hardware (as software and services don’t have asset states), you should be able to select multiple assets then find the asset state in the bulk update pop-up.

Another round-about way to do it would be taking a CSV of your assets (while making sure you have all required fields) then put an asset state in with “retired” for all assets. Then when you import (we do based on serial number), it will just modify those assets.

Hope these help.

Awesome! Thank you. I was unaware of this particular filter requirement to bulk update the asset state. That appears to work :)
