We have a customer that needs the automation for Child Ticket. When the Child ticket is updated, It can update the parents ticket too. Here is the use case:

  • When the child ticket is in progress to L2, the parent ticket will also be updated to L2.
  • When the child ticket is resolved, the parent ticket will be updated to L1.

I have checked the automation and the current automation doesn’t support this workflow.

Thanks.

You need to use the Web Request node and API.

But a it would be good if a Action node could update parent like it can do with a child ticket.

@msconfig87 @eeha0120 @zachary.king What do you think, Having Parent actions like you can do with child tickets now would be good?

I would like to be able to updates values both ways without the need for web request node and api.

E.g. we have a custom field added “Failing service” and the value set for that field on the parent ticket when resolved should be set on all child tickets. Solved it via web request and api, but I agree it should be doable with simple actions in the workflow.

Upvote even if this is the other way around 😁
