Hello,

The consumable asset type is a great feature, we utilize this asset type for periphals that we do not need to track individual assets like mice, keyboards, monitors etc. The one thing this is lacking is being able to assign these to users, Currently each consumable record is only assignable to one user regardless of the quantity set.

While we do not need the full asset management features for consumables it would really help out during offboarding to see what extra devices where sent to the user.

The record should capture basic info about the product, like name, Vendor, price, quantity, model, manufacture.

Ideally it should work similar to software where we can assign multiple users to one consumable record and this should show under the assets tab in the requestors profile.

I agree with needing this feature.  We have consumable assets that we need to track, and have an idea of what we have on inventory.  When we receive a ticket, we can mark that we sent a set # to what location in the ticket, and close it.  We tried to create assets and number them, but once they were used, they were then attached to the ticket once closed.

How is inventory handled for larger ticketed expendable assets in other organizations?

Currently we just track who has what in a spreadsheet, since these items are not considered “assets” we dont need detailed documentation on it. However being able to track assignment would be great, so when we preform offboarding, or when a user wants another we can look back on previous fullfillments.

There is not a easy way to see fulfillments at all.

Any recent news regarding this? I really want this feature added. It is an absolute must.

This would be very helpful.

This is a great idea. As we are implementing the asset module we realized this functionality is missing. There is no way to know what has been assigned to a user without looking at every service request and incident.
We want to know the number of monitors to send boxes for when someone leaves the company, but we do not track monitors as inventory. We considered adding a note to the users profile but there is not reporting associated with that...
