Copy attachments to Jira

We use Jira to track issues sent to our development department from Freshservice.

Although it is possible to link the Freshservice issue to Jira attachments need to be added to the Jira issue manually.

I would like to be able to copy these attachments automatically.

This would be a great additional feature - looks pretty easy to implement too:

Any update on this? We need attachments added to a FD ticket to also be added to the linked JIRA issue and for attachments added to the JIRA issue to come back up to the FD ticket

Hi, have you had the chance to look at this feature request yet?

Any news on what you might do here - it really is a pain to have to manually copy attachments between Freshhdesk and JIRA and things get missed. It is important for clients in Freshdesk to be able to add screenshots for us that developers in JIRA need to see and vice versa. The Dropbox file share option doesn't help us because when you add an attachment in this way in Freshdesk there is still no clue in JIRA that this has happened.

Hi All

Ticket attachments links will be shown along with the Issue Description or Comment when a Freshdesk ticket is linked to an issue in Jira. This fix will be available by Jan 31st 2015.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused in this regard.

Thanks

Roshini

I Just tried this and it didn't work :-(

I added an attachment to a FD ticket, created a JIRA issue from FD and the attachment was not in JIRA...

I added an attachment to my JIRA issue and it did not get sent back and appear in FD...

Hi Andrew

Apologies,  the attachment feature is not live in production.

We will try to deploy the fix at the earliest.

Thanks

Any news on when this might be released?

Andrew,

The good news is we have completed the design.. However the tentative ETA is something we can publish in the next few weeks..

Hi Anand,

I can't understand how the release date gets less and less concrete.
First we were promised a release on January 31st, then within a few weeks and now you are talking about a tentative ETA that might be published in a few weeks,
Please provide us with an ETA that will be met.

It's all gone very quiet...when realistically will this be implemented? The early posts here suggested it would be live 31 January.

Hi, please give us an update on this request.

Hi Christiaan:

Apologies for the recurring delay in pushing this enhancement out. Actually we are having a series of Internal Technology Upgrades which is causing the delay. The implementation is currently under review. I will update this thread as soon as it is exposed for General Availability.

Thanks,

Prasanna

Is it possible that someone gives us an ETA?

Hi Christiaan:

We are happy to announce that the functionality of copying Ticket attachments from Freshdesk to JIRA is available now. Once a Freshdesk ticket is linked to an issue in JIRA, the Ticket attachments will be shown along with the Issue Description or Comment in JIRA. If the attachment exists in a Third-party application like Box or Dropbox, then it will be shown as a link in the JIRA issue.

Do check it out and let us know your feedback.

Thanks,

Prasanna

 Hi Prasanna

I have tested this and it does work in a FD->JIRA direction. I checked with one and three attachments added to the FD ticket and when I then created a JIRA issue through the integration, the resultant JIRA issue had the attachment(s). All good.

However...adding an attchment to the JIRA issue did not add the same to the FD ticket. I suspect that this may be because in JIRA, adding an attachment is not linked to adding a comment (unlike in FD). As the integration works on comments I guess these aren't being picked up.

So this first part is great as it saves time having to manually save and re-add attachments from FD to JIRA, but it is only half the story.

Can you look at getting the attachments syncing the other way too?

Thanks

Andrew
