For example laptops, we have multiple's of the same model laptop (eg. HP 640) and whenever we purchase more we have to input these asset into the CMDB one by one. It would be much easier if we can just copy the details from another CI which copies all the specs and the only thing we have to change is the unique fields such as serial number.

Create a copy of a CI
I was going to start a topic of this myself. It would be great it we could copy an asset from the same location so all we have to do is update the name of the device, serial number, and assign it to a user - instead of creating the CI, choosing the location and all of the other details every time.
