Create Contact without email or phone

I would like to add a Contact for whom I have neither an email nor a phone number.

My primary use of Contacts in Freshdesk is association with Companies, and I often get the names of individuals at a company from Zoom meetings which they joined via link, not meeting invitation, so the only information I have about them is their name.

My current workaround for not being able to add a Contact without any contact info is to include the contact names and descriptions in the Company notes so that I can search the name to find the Company they’re associated with.

Hi Kailey,

 

For Contact creation, Contact name and Email address/Phone/Unique ID/Twitter ID is a mandatory fields. 

 

How about we add the name, Unique ID, and Company name while you create a Contact? In this degree, you can also pull reports on the total number of users you have interacted with in each Company. 

 

Ideas to generate Unique IDs, 

You can create a Custom Company Field “Company Unique ID” and associate an ID to each Company. 

 

For Example 

Company name
“Acme”

Company Unique ID : 1

 

Company name

“Freshdesk”

Company Unique ID : 2

 

For rest of them, the Company Unique IDs can be:
“1,2,3….n”

 

Contact Unique external ID
“101,102,103…..n”

Alternatively, you could add a name and a dummy email address such as dummyvalue@companyname.com

@Aarthi The solution is a hack on the actual problem (Freshsales isn’t the only CRM that suffers from this problem.)

The only required field for a person contact should be either a first name or a last name.

Any one of those should be good enough to get a lead into the system. You will often only know a first name - “Glen at XYZ Corp” are the only details you have. You need to be able to enter these without workarounds.
