Creating JIRA issue does not include comment history

When having configured the JIRA integration to copy comments made in Freshdesk to a linked JIRA issue, this does not affect comments made before the link is set up.

A typical workflow is that a user submits a question, a support agent investigates through a couple of emails, and then decides to promote the question to a bug report, which should be linked into JIRA. At that point the complete history of the ticket contains much of the information needed to diagnose the bug, but when creating a JIRA issue, only the original question is copied. This leaves the support agent with having to manually copy the comments to JIRA, which is not time well spent.

Staffan - I also have this same issue - have you found any solutions?

Don

No, nothing better than manual copy of each comment. It is also possible to manually edit the issue description in JIRA and make it contain the whole conversation instead of the original question. That reduces is to one copy-paste operation, but then again it is not much better than creating the JIRA issue manually altogether.

Hi Staffan

Currently we are not syncing the Old Comments from the Freshdesk side to JIRA. Only New Comments are synced

We will take up this Auto-sync feature in the next 3-4 months time

Vijay

Thanks for the response Vijay. It is good to know that this is being looked at.

Folks,

Updating this thread with the latest information - The integration ports over the comments on a ticket to the linked Jira Issue.

Cheers!
