Hi

I noticed this is "in progress"  is there any news as to when it might happen?

comments are generally closed so one has to assume it is imminent

Some feedback would be nice

I dont really need (or want) a full CRM if my helpdesk held sufficient info as far as clients went

Freshdesk is nearly there and i am surprised they havent pushed that extra step

Critical Feature!! Freshdesk is customer service oriented -- so help us provide great service by tracking customer info.

Please provide feedback -- will this make it into the next release?

** ADDED BONUS **

On trigger action (Dispatch'r), allow us to update custom ticket fields with linking fields from the customer record

For example, we have a new custom field for customer such as Device ID.

Our ticket also has a custom field for Device ID.

When the ticket is created, we would like to update the ticket->DeviceID from the customer->DeviceID.

Any news about this?

We are still working on this. This is still a few months away.

Please let us know! It's very important :-\

@AbhishekThis is a very important feature. Zendesk already has this implemented in their system.

Any news?

We've now rolled out the Custom Field for Contacts and Companies. Please read more about it here - https://support.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/203410-customized-customer-fields

Thanks a lot for being patient with us :)

Do feel free to let us know your feedback.

Uh! That's a fantastic news!

How can I multiple manage them? Do you have any API?

Great feature, but needs to be supported in the Import functionality and fully in the API as well.

We are working on the API end point for this and will get back with an ETA in a few weeks..

Whilst i agree access to the API is probably the next priority,  i find the comments above a little mean with this.  Its brand new out of the box,  get used to it,  generally i suspect most people havent a clue yet what they want to integrate in and out (i currently am still formulating what i want to do)  but i am just happy it is starting to happen after a 2 year wait.  Give them some encouragement at least!!  I am no fanboy,  and have been a strident critic of the delay in this feature,  but it is here now and it can only get better.

@Kevin I'm glad you're happy but without ability to manage the data I can't use the feature. I have a customer master pulling relational data from multiple sources, so for me it's useless without better integration capability. Glad to hear it's under consideration though.

We are now evaluating FreshDesk. We will be creating contacts and tickets via API calls because the master contact info is in another system.

To confirm, are you saying custom fields in contacts cannot be populated via the API?

Creating and updating contacts/companies with custom fields are supported via API.
