Customer Registration and notification e-mail

We basically have 2 different workflows.

  • Requests coming from customers, which create tickets and the customer is aware of the ticketing system.
  • Requests created by agents for which the customers has no idea about the ticketing system (and we don't want them to)

My question is about the new account notification e-mail sent to the customer and the combination with allowing people to create their account.

In general, we DON'T want people to receive a notification when WE create an account for them (forward an e-mail), so we turned the notification off.

BUT, we need them to receive a greetings/set your password e-mail when they create their account from the public portal.

Is there a way to make a distinction between the 2 situations and send notifications only to the latter?

Hello Fabrice,

Unfortunately, at the moment, if the auto-notification is turned off , the only way to trigger the email to the user is by manual action. You can go to the Customers tab and then click on Send activation email option to send them the link to setup their account.

We can make some automations to group these customers so that you'd be able to send the link in a single click. Do you think that would help? Please let me know.

Cheers!

Hi Aravind,

Do you have the guide on how we can group the customers and send the activation link in one go?

Cheers!
