For some reason it may be more useful to manage all your channels with your multiple products or maybe use the whole software as an email receptor - no portal at all. The hability of disabling the portal would be great, replacing the landing page with just the login form for the staff and admins.

Just an additonal note: we can do this by deselecting everything in Customer Portal section, however the question may rise: How can I allow some features in one product and not in others? (such as forums, login, register...)

Hi Mario,

We agree on the Portal settings. For now, they're not independent, all the changes done are universal for all the portals. We will be making improvements in the multiple products features and will surely bring in options for individual portals soon.

I am interested in this feature too. I am having multiple products and the problem here is, that the forum and solutions categories are also displaying in my main customer portal. So it would be good to disable main customer portal or assign different categories to it. Otherwise my customers may use both portals which are actually for different purpose.

We have rolled out the enhancement for multi product/portal. You can go ahead and choose the required Solution and Forum categories for your main portal (as opposed to the existing option for multiple product's portal). Below are the steps:

- Go to Admin -> Portals

- Click on your main portal (usually the first in the list)

- Select the required solution and forum categories under Portal Categories

- And hit 'Save'

Hope the enhancement is helpful, do let us know your feedback.

The "Multiple Product" feature is one of the most important feature to us but we find the current implementation rather convoluted.

If you are running Freshdesk to power the support and KB of internal products (not public facing) then we face the following challenges:

- We cannot restrict customers to a specific portal

- The main portal is also considered as a "Product" which makes UI/UX pretty confusing when trying to create product specific forums or solutions (though it can be done)

- If you are not allowing sign-up via the portal, anybody can still bypass this restriction by:
1. Issue a ticket to the support email address (he will automatically become a customer and his email will be registered)

2. Reset his password on the login page of your support portal

Would love for FreshDesk to further improve user experience when dealing with multiple products.

Thanks!

Thierry

Would be good if we can completely customise each portal with different ticket forms. Currently we work in multiple countries and want different forms for each country.

We have created multiple ticket fields which are hidden one each portal but it would be good to have each portal set up independently.

Thank you

Anthony

Thierry, you can restrict the users accessing your Freshdesk account by using Helpdesk Restriction feature, since you know the domains from which the users are going to access. Give it a spin and write to us at support@freshdesk.com should you require further assistance on this.

Anthony, a thoughtful suggestion. We'll pass on the feedback and reach out if there are any updates.

Cheers!!
