In the project templates if we could select a dynamic start date that would be awesome. Example: project is created from a service request and a due date is established based on the start date of a new employee. Then tasks start dates could be set to be due 14 days prior, another task 10 days before due date, etc. Essentially pull planning.

I already have all the tasks in the template with the predecessors.

OR if we had workflows for Projects we could modify the dates in a workflow after creation. Either way. =]

Hi there,

I think your idea of having dynamic project start dates in the project templates is a great one. It would be very helpful for projects that are triggered by events or other external factors.

For example, in your example, the project could be created from a service request and the due date would be established based on the start date of a new employee. Then, the tasks could be scheduled to start 14 days prior to the due date, 10 days prior, etc. This would allow you to create a pull planning schedule, which is a very efficient way to manage projects.

I'm glad to hear that you already have all the tasks in the template with the predecessors. This will make it easy to implement the dynamic start dates.

I hope the project management team considers your idea. It would be a valuable addition to the project templates.

Thanks for sharing your idea!

Allowing task to align with due dates based on factors like new employee start dates. This pull planning approach, when combined with existing task templates, could enhance project management efficiency.
