- Ability to really customize the look and feel of the support portal through wysiwyg / css / html options.
- Option for adding right or left side bar that could contain custom widgets / freshdesk  integrations
- Option for adding a background image to the help desk portal
- Custom Menu Links

Here is a great zendesk portal customization: Their main site apps-builder.com  | Their support site >  https://appsbuilder.zendesk.com/home

I wish there was an 'unlike' button. I want to communicate to  Vijay, adding this kind of complexity would make me less likely to buy Freshdesk, not more.

It's only complex if you use it.  The OP said "option".  If you want you're site to look like everyone else's then you don't have to implement.

I will be happy with this!

It would also be nice if I as an Admin was allowed to treat each portal as it's on entity.  Meaning I can have different (customizable) ticket forms, customized look and feel, customized email responses (by portal), etc..

Hello,

Freshdesk allows you to treat each product portal as a separate entity and you can completely customise the look & feel of the portal pages using the portal customisation options available from the Estate plan. You can read more about the liquid placeholders and how they can help you to customise the portal information here.
