Is it possible to choose language for the guest by url?

By default the language is English is it possible for a use to choose their language by setting a variable like lang=nl in the url?

Hi Robert,

Its not possible via URL, but only via their Profile settings page

Could you then please move this to the feature request page? We are in need of this feature because we have a multi language website and want to show the correct language based on what the visitor chooses on the main website.

Yeah, same here... we have several websites where we'd like to embed freshdesk in an iframe with a language parameter per site. Currently this is the only reason not to choose for freshdesk.

I have a separate product (which you can get from garden plan and upwards) which is set to be a different language with a different URL

Hello Folks,


Sorry that we've missed to update this thread for a very long time. We had earlier launched the multilingual portal capability wherein it allows the user to pick and choose the language of their choice instead of navigating to multiple locations to see the portal in a different language. 


You can read more about multi-lingual portal here : Multi lingual portal


Once you setup the multiple languages, it would be easier to load the portal on a specific language using the url. 


For example, if you had setup Catalan as one of your supported languages, the portal of this version can be loaded by accessing the url : https://yourcompany.freshdesk.com/ca/support/home

@Eric Yes, the portal would load in the respective languages based on the url selected by the user. Please read this self-help article to know more about setting up multi lingual portals.
