Hello - I would love to replace our current wiki with the built-in knowledge base. The functionality of the knowledge base is great and it can help us reduce the quantity tickets that our agents have to work, but there’s one major thing missing IMO - the ability to receive an RSS feed or subscribe to changes.

Many of my customers subscribe to our wiki changes (this is really easy to enable on MediaWiki). Until this functionality is present, I don’t think I’ll be able to change the wiki knowledge base to the built-in knowledge base.

I have seen this requested before, but it didn’t seem to get a ton of traction.

@kengon - We currently have a wiki to show customers how to interact with us via our API, but from time to time, we need to update the information on the page or the schemas and stylesheets that we provide to our customers. With MediaWiki, users can setup their own RSS subscription to get notified when changes occur.

I noticed this isn’t possible with the Solutions located in FreshService at this time. I couldn’t locate any events in the Workflow Automator for the Solutions “when a solution changes”. Additionally, I couldn’t find any API hooks for Solution Articles at all.

I’d like to move all of our knowledge inside of FreshService, but with the current limitations, the best option I have would be to use an external resource. Are any of these items on the roadmap for this year?

That’s a great question. For the most part, this is a pretty standard capability for KM products in the marketplace. I’m tagging @chad.haftorson here so he can comment on the roadmap. Over to you, Chad 😉
