You can create a ticket in the forum but you cant assign to an existing ticket (please allow this as most requests start from a ticket). A bonus would be to add a forum post directly from a ticket but more important is the link to existing ticket.

This would be extremely useful! Please consider it.

This really needs to get added to Freshdesk, as this is the only area where an announcement/notice can easily get posted for the end user to find and view.

PLEASE ESCALATE THIS PRIORITY!

Hey,

We are looking into the feature of converting ticket to topic and analyzing various use cases around it. Once we explore more on it, we will definitely start working on the feature. We will keep you all posted about the progress.

Regards,

Sajesh

We are glad to inform you all that the feature to convert a ticket into a forum topic is now available!

You can find the option under 'More' in the ticket page as show below:

When you opt for 'Convert to Topic', you will be redirected to topic creation page and you can go ahead to post the forum topic under the requester's name.

Feel free to drop in your feedback about the feature. Thanks.

We still cannot link a ticket to an existing forum post or a forum post to a ticket!

  1. We should be able to link multiple tickets to a single topic (multiple customers ticket requesting for the same feature).
  2. We should also be able to link multiple forum post to a single ticket (a single customer ticket has multiple request)

It does not make sense to have to create a new topic for each ticket request in order to link it, right?
