Hello,
we changed to Enterprise because of our need to have a sandbox for development and testing. But my biggest problem is that the Sandbox is in no way an EXACT COPY of production. A lot of data is missing, One big issue is i.e. missing the ‘IT Operations’ section.
But also contacts, assets, etc etc.

A sandbox must be an EXACT COPY of the production otherwise developing and testing is useless. We do not pay this much extra for an Enterprise license to still have to test in production!

Regards,
Eric

Agreed the sandbox copy needs a lot of work.

I am tired of disabling all “Email Notifications” in all workspaces one by one every time I re-create the sandbox. If I don’t and then start testing, I end up sending a million email notifications to agents and groups of agents for all sorts of things.

@RomanSkuta I fully agree. There is so much extra manual labor to do before you can actually use the sandbox. This is a real hinder for me to remove and re-create the sandbox. I rather copy all my changes manually to production instead of re-creating the sandbox over and over again.

There is a major overhaul of Sandbox coming this year. If you havent been attending their webinars about upcoming features that happen monthly; you should!  This specific issue isnt being addressed but there are several features coming.

Regarding ITOM stuff, guessing that was omitted so users weren’t getting false flags on alerts from sandbox.  I’m sure there is more but that is the first thing that comes to mind for me.

Hello Eric,

I understand your frustration with the discrepancies between your production environment and the sandbox provided by Enterprise. It's crucial for a sandbox environment to mirror the production environment as closely as possible to ensure accurate testing and development.

I recommend reaching out to the support team of your Enterprise provider to address these issues. They should be able to assist you in ensuring that your sandbox environment is properly configured to match your production environment, including all necessary data such as the 'IT Operations' section, contacts, assets, and other relevant information.

If necessary, you can also inquire about any specific steps or processes required to synchronize data between your production and sandbox environments to maintain consistency.

It's essential for your development and testing efforts that your sandbox environment accurately reflects your production environment. I encourage you to communicate your concerns to your Enterprise provider so they can assist you in resolving these issues promptly.

Best regards,

Hello,
@Medic1334: I would like to attend these webinars but most of them are during our work hours and it is not easy for me to make time. But I will try to attend in the future.

@jacob1166 I have no support team of a provider. We had one but the stopped and now I get all support from Freshworks themselves. But I am used that when I create a mirror as a sandbox that this sandbox is a real mirror. I worked with several other suppliers of service management tooling and never had to do manual actions to get an exact copy. To be honest, this can not even be called a sandbox. It is more a newly setup of Freshservice Starter. And yes some parts are copied form production.

I just hope that Freshworks will make it possible to have 1 on 1 image of the original production environment. 🤗

I agree.

One example is that when I edit a Catalog Item, the order of the fields does not sync. Not a huge deal breaker, but when I place the fields in a specific order and sync the forms, the order in the sandbox should transfer to production.

Creating an exact copy of a production environment in a sandbox is essential for accurate testing and troubleshooting. By mirroring the production setup, including databases, configurations, and workflows, developers can ensure that any changes or new features are tested in a realistic environment before going live. This process minimizes risks of unexpected issues in production and enhances the quality of the final product. Regular synchronization between sandbox and production environments ensures that the sandbox reflects the most recent state of production for reliable testing.

I agree!! we have asked several times to make the sandbox an exact clone of the production instance for testing.  Right now, whenever to refresh, we have to go in and add asset data and then rebuild our onboarding setup, which is a real pain to do everytime.

@EricRoeland good morning, has Fresh followed up with you at all on this request by chance? I’ve noticed that the past couple of months now Fresh has mentioned that their sandbox environment will be upgraded and now it appears that’s pushed back until May of 2026. Thanks!
