We are running into the duplicate company issue too. I can't believe this was requested three years ago and this is still not a feature. I'm starting to doubt freshdesk as a reliable helpdesk. Our old CRM could do this! Please Freshdesk, add this feature.

Well, this is a lazy and old business model where it is clear that the developers are always one step behind:

"We haven't seen this request come up from a lot of customers so far - we'll keep an eye on this forum and add this request to our backlog if it gathers more interest."

So it is a company that will never inovate... And will be always behind (or blind to) the competitors?

This would be a very helpful feature. Based on this forum, I cannot see why you would think its not a requested feature

I cant believe that this isn't a standard feature?  If Freshdesk are promoting smother importing of data from other platforms such as Pipedrive & Xero, they have to have the ability to manage the data after it is imported.  Pipedrive like many other apps have separate CSV files for company and clients.  When consolidating client CRMs from multiple apps this is a must feature and does not make sense only having it for contacts only.  This is very disappointing, Freshdesk.  One way around this is to import the dirty data back into Pipedrive that does have this merge capability, clean up the data and then import it back in to a clean Freshdesk.  Not ideal but a band aid solution, none the less.  Do we get a discount on this months subscription for doing this??!!!!!

What's happening with this feature, it's a pain!

We need this merge company capability as well.  The duplicate finder in FreshSales is brilliant - any thought about putting that into FreshDesk?  I know you are different teams but great to share best practices.

This is vital to my operation.  The company has over 1K users.  Companies are bought and sold all the time.  Please add.

Pretty ridiculous this is still an open request, without a reply in years. +1

Hello All,

We sincerely apologize for being silent on this thread.

We currently do not have the option to merge two companies directly. This is indeed a thoughtful suggestion. Happy to take it up as a feature request and we'll reach out to you with further updates.

Thanks!

Any updates on this?

This is a much-needed feature. Specially if “Archived Tickets” option is enabled, because the company option is read-only, hence can’t be changed

Also, because we have companies, that are ‘bought over’ and want to merge those together without losing the ticket and timeline activity in the company.

  • Ideally when a company is merged all activities come together in the timeline in a chronological order (critical).
  • Existing contacts are bought together under the new record
  • The ticket record should maintain the company field like when are contacts are re-associated to another company, to show which was the original company it was raised for
  • Would be perfect if in the company timeline/ticket view the original company name is added as a tag or something similar, so it is easier to identify as well that those tickets are result of a merge and is related to a specific company (not critical, but a nice to have).

Thanks!
