More modern presentation of knowledge base?

For example, Zendesk (out of the box) has big buttons for top-level categories (whatever Zendesk calls them). They have the same organization structure for their KB as Freshdesk, but their presentation is way more modern.

I realize this is fairly non-specific, but I think it's fair and clear to say Freshdesk's knowledge base looks pretty dated and Zendesk's knowledge base looks modern (both out of the box).

Any plans to improve this (out of the box)? Not through themes as I don't have a service level that includes FreshThemes. I don't know how much is possible through FreshThemes.

I don't know what plan you are from, but from Garden you can do full CSS customizations, and more than that; on all plans you can access the Solutions part through the Freshdesk API and build a completely customized solution integrated to your website. Check out the documentation here: https://developers.freshdesk.com/api/#solutions

Thank you, Marcus. I failed to mention CSS editing in my original post, so it's totally sensible for you to bring it up as a solution. My intent is to request this for the default state of the KB, though, so I hope Freshdesk considers it.

I don't want to pay my web guy to work on the CSS — I'd rather it just felt more "modern" (sorry to be so general) out of the box.

Again, I appreciate your completely relevant and correct response.
