When editing individual custom object entries, to remove an entry the delete button is in the upper left. However, the delete icon to delete the entire custom object list is also on the page, in the upper right.

This makes it too easy to delete the entire custom object list, not just the line item. Since there is no way to undelete or recover a deleted custom object (that I am aware of) without employing the entire sandbox, can the delete icon for the entire list be moved up a level, to the list of all the custom objects? and/or have a trashcan for custom objects where you can restore if you deleted one.

From someone who has deleted a custom object one too many times, I was glad to see I wasn’t the only one.  I agree that the delete needs to be moved and a restore option would be nice.  However, because you are removing an entire object, it would be nice to have a confirmation dialog box as well.

Hi Everyone,

The above issues will be addressed in the upcoming release (end of July 2024). The delete option will become contextual to the object/field/record only.

A warning plus confirmation dialog box will also pop-up when a user tries to delete the custom object.

As someone who has accidentally deleted a custom object more times than I'd like to admit, it’s reassuring to know I’m not alone. I completely agree that the delete option should be relocated, and a restore feature would be incredibly useful. Much like how I’d appreciate a clear sign before taking a detour on the Brit Route, a confirmation dialog box before removing an entire object would be a great safeguard.
