Hi Freshworks Team and Community,

I am currently developing custom integrations for self-service customer support portals to help reduce overall incoming agent ticket volume. A feature we desperately need natively inside Freshdesk/Freshservice portals is a low-latency, client-side calculator widget builder.

To test how a tool like this impacts user interaction and reduces ticket deflection, I built a standalone, responsive calculator engine using vanilla JavaScript data arrays. It handles complex, multi-variable logic loops directly in the client's browser (calculating dynamic price variations and nutritional tracking points simultaneously depending on size parameters).

You can interact with the live layout configuration and check out the responsive UI performance model here:

Having an identical native widget block available inside our portal layout customizer would allow teams to build instant quote calculators, shipping estimate fields, or data sheets directly into their knowledge base paths without relying on heavy third-party plugins or external API calls.

Is anyone else currently utilizing custom JS blocks to achieve this layout inside their customer service portals, or are there any roadmap updates for native dynamic calculators?

Native Client-Side Calculator Integration for Support Portals enables users to perform calculations directly within a support platform without relying on external tools. This improves efficiency by providing instant results and a smoother user experience. Similar to Calculadora Alicia Mejorada, such integrations help users solve mathematical problems quickly, accurately, and conveniently within their workflow.

Here's your comment:

Fully support this idea. Support agents spend a surprising amount of time switching between tabs just to do basic calculations — ticket values, refund amounts, percentage discounts, SLA time calculations. Having that natively inside the portal would eliminate a lot of context switching.

Until something like this gets built into Freshworks natively the workaround most of our team uses is keeping https://aliciacalculadoras.es/ open in a pinned browser tab. It loads instantly, shows full step by step working for every calculation which is actually useful when you need to explain a refund breakdown to a customer rather than just presenting a final number, and requires zero setup.

The native integration idea is better long term obviously but a pinned browser calculator tab covers 90% of the use case in the meantime.

Upvoted — this is a genuine productivity gap in most support portal setups.

Native client-side calculator integration can be a valuable addition to support portals because it allows users to perform calculations instantly without leaving the page or waiting for server responses. This improves user experience, reduces support requests for simple calculations, and helps users make quicker decisions. Keeping the calculations client-side also enhances performance, responsiveness, and privacy while providing immediate results.

Integrating a native client-side calculator into a support portal improves user experience by providing instant calculations without server requests. It enhances performance, protects user privacy, and reduces backend load. This approach is ideal for estimating costs, discounts, or usage metrics while keeping the interface responsive and accessible across devices.

Native client-side calculators can be really useful in support portals because users can get an immediate result without depending on a separate service or complicated process. The key is making the calculation simple and presenting the result in a way people can actually use. That’s also why I find a salary calculator useful for personal finance, it takes a potentially complicated calculation involving gross pay, tax and deductions and turns it into a clear take-home figure. Having that information quickly can make budgeting or comparing job offers much easier.
