Given how everyone deals with email overload...what about having the ability to be notified on the desktop of important events like notes on tickets, ticket assignments, etc.  Perhaps utilizing something like Growl or how Chrome pushes desktop notifications:

It would be great to have the ability to group/condense the email notifications on a agent by agent basis.

For example, Agent 1 elects to have their email notifications grouped and every hour they get one email advising them of the activity in the last your (eg new tickets, responses updates, notes etc), Agent 2 Could get a combined notification every 15 minutes, and Agent 3 could continue to get immediate notifications (as occurs now).

In relation to the desktop notification - a sound notification would be great too

We'd really like to be able receive notifications using Growl or something like that as well.

Are there any plans for this sort of feature?

Could be useful only a "notification bar" with visual and number indications

I accomplished this in Chrome with this extension:  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/support-notifications/enfpphpelchogekkdfjicghaigahdldc

Works great.

SupportNotifications, which Tim S. mentioned, is ok.  But a solid Freshdesk/Freshservices Chrome extension would be fantastic.  All of our techs use Chrome as their primary browser, and it's available on all of our devices, syncing nicely.  Having an extension means we don't have to always have a tab or window open dedicated to Freshdesk all the time, but will get regular updates.

Would love to have custom notifications about new tickets, responses, SLA violations, attached calendar events, etc.

Love this idea!!

The whole reason we're moving to a better helpdesk system like freshdesk is to get away from email. Google desktop notifications would be a good option as they appear outside the browser window.

Hello everyone ,

A chrome plugin is definitely on the cards. We have even put this on our road map here https://support.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/forums/290448

Thanks

Nice find Tim S.

Small point to note, we all login to freshdesk via google so no one has a password. If you're using supportnotification you can use your api key and password X if you're in the same situation as us.

Hi All, Chrome plugin for notifications will be out in 2 weeks for all plans.

Awesome!

What would be the possibility of adding some functionality that would disable sending emails to agents if they are active with the chrome plugin.

The idea being that while they are at their desk their email doesn't get loaded up with tickets that they are already getting notified for. Then only start ending them emails if they are idle or logout. Or even outside the defined business hours.

Cheers

Paul

Janani this is awesome! I hope that eta will be respected :-)

Any update on this? It would be extremely useful to have desktop notifications which were configurable with regards to the ticket/customer/organisation fields (eg 'send me a desktop notification if a new ticket is created from x@y.com with the topic Abc Def)

I'm also anxious for an update on this.

Freshdesk Folks please don't said ever sentences like this:

"We'll be rolling out notification for freshdesk ticket activities shortly. Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I'll update this thread soon."

And after 2 years, I repeat 2 YEARS, nothing at all! :-(

No ETA please, no anymore.

While my main guys have the app on their phones and get alerts, I have student workers who sit at our helpdesk.  I have to ask them to refresh the page manually every 5 min.  Is there any update on this feature?
