Open Card Link in New Tab

If you use the mousewheel to click or use Ctrl + click or Cmd + click, any link can be opened in a new tab.

This is not just about Freshdesk: Before clicking a link on any website there’s no way of knowing if it will open in a new tab or not. So when I want a link to open in a new tab, I’ll just use Cmd + click either way. [...]

By default links open in the same tab - that’s the default behaviour that users can expect when clicking a link. And then there’s a native way and shortcut to open links in a new tab.

I don’t see why Freshdesk should change the default for clicking links in the ticket list view affecting their 60,000+ customers and hence even more agents, when only a few agents maybe not always but sometimes wanna have a link open in a new tab.

And when you add target="_blank" to a link [which you suggested] it will always open in a new tab and there’s no shortcut for opening links in the same tab.

What you can do:

• Get used to using the Cmd + click shortcut
• Search for a browser plugin that lets you open links in a new tab automatically, maybe even limited to certain pages [...]
